Down to the Wire
I decided not to ask for material from Elizabeth to create a book or other type of print object with the Motown Symposium artifacts. I thought about it it and talked it over with a couple of my classmates and decided to create a series of posters combining the information from my tour, and the research on each artist I was focusing on. I've always liked the style of the Motown posters:

ReplyDeleteGlad to see that you are feeling directed. I think it makes sense to work with the material you've been collecting this year as long you can imagine it sustaining your interest.
A few formal notes:
-- I would encourage you to think about working larger scale -- take a look at the European street poster formats on display on the second floor hallways.
-- Where can you imagine these posters might ideally hang
(other than the IP show)?
-- Be sure that you use the Motown poster "style" as an inspiration, not a template.
Looking forward to seeing preliminary designs for the set of 5 on March 9th.
