Review Reflection

The questions raised in my review, I've been struggling with this entire semester. I feel that I am trying to cover all the bases with my tour. By that, I mean the points of concern most feel when you look at Detroit. I initially wanted to do a historical tour, but I was concerned that focusing too much on the past disregards the present. I also thought of the way to get the community involved, and to highlight places near each tour stop that are currently thriving. All of these ideas are wonderful, but trying to fit all of these into one tour that I am putting together, seems to be getting to big for me to process. I feel like I am taking on too much, which is keeping me from going forward with simple tasks such as making things and connecting with important contacts.

I need to bring this tour back to it's basics. I've decided that my personal narrative isn't important to me in the tour script. It was brought up in the review that an education of what was is somewhat necessary. I would like to integrate old photos and paint more of a picture of the history of each place in the script as well as the Motown history.

As far as my audience is concerned, I am going to come up with a way to inform the local communities of the tour, either with flyering or making a connection with the high schools. I will also be contacting the Motown Museum.

I'm going to forgo the usage of markers for now, to concentrate on the map/brochure.

Right now, I'm not really feeling good about my project. Writing my thesis draft will be a big challenge. I'm hoping that coming back into the winter semester, I will feel more confident in my project.
